The Department of Banking and Finance (Eastern Mediterranean University, North Cyprus) invited submissions for the First International Conference on Banking and Finance Perspectives (ICBFP`2011), which provided a platform for academicians, practitioners, and researchers to present research and stimulate discussions on new trends in banking and finance.
The conference wasorganized by the Department of Banking and Finance at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in Famagusta, North Cyprus, during 13-15 April 2011. EMU is the oldest university in North Cyprus with a population of about 15,000 students from 67 different countries.
Conference Scope
In the light of the global economic crisis that is triggered by the financial sector, the conference served as a valuable forum for discussing the current issues and challenges in banking and finance. Participants benefited from the various perspectives on the global financial crisis and discussions on strategies for mitigating the impacts on the economies, especially the private sector which is struggling to remain prepared and resilient during these turbulent times. In addition to serving as an academic platform to share the latest research in banking and finance, the conference served as a platform for discussing the opportunities and challenges facing all participants in the global financial markets.
A distinguished panel of speakers with diverse backgrounds were carefully selected to provide insights on the current events within the context of the rapidly changing global financial environment facing new challenges and regulatory interventions.
